Going the self-publishing route for my first book, The Cloud Car, was not my initial plan. Like other authors, I went through the long, arduous task of trying to find publishers, then trying to find agents and sometimes trying to find both at the same time. Along the way, one certainly gets educated quickly about how the industry works, what a formula for success looks like, and lastly, but apparently most importantly, how to attract as many people to your personal platform as possible.
Here's the thing though: I'm just starting out. This is all new to me, and while I have been a "writer" all of my life, and I was published for the first time at a young age (The Longmeadow Journal of Young Writers), I'm just getting back to serious writing and now, distributing.
So .a little bit about me. As mentioned, my work was published in The Longmeadow Journal of Young Writers...twice. My undergraduate degree focused on Television and Advertising, and I have an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. By day, I'm an integrated marketing executive, but at night you'll find me refining the craft you see here and testing it on the the most scrupulous of audiences.
My writing is heavily influenced by stories surrounding adventurous kids stumbling across the unexplainable and the (almost) unbelievable. I enjoy the chaos that can come from the various storylines of multiple characters in one setting, and I'm especially intrigued by the possibilities for story twists that can come from sources of history, science and religion.
With any luck, and a lot of hard work, this page will evolve, and you will get to hear more about me as I delve deeper. Thanks for stopping by!
